FAQ
Real answers, no fluff.
How is this different from a Discord template?
A template is a generic blueprint. CommunityVault captures YOUR server exactly as it is - specific permissions, channel order, slowmodes, role hierarchy. More importantly, templates can't reach your members. CommunityVault can.
Can it back up bot settings?
No - and neither can anything else. Bot configurations are stored inside each bot's own database, which Discord doesn't expose. CommunityVault restores your server structure perfectly. Bot settings need to be reconfigured manually - that's a Discord limitation, not ours.
What if my Discord account gets compromised?
Every server gets a Recovery Key at setup (format: CV-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). Store it offline. If your account is ever lost, visit communityvault.org/recover, enter your original Guild ID and Recovery Key, and transfer your data to a new server without needing Discord login.
Is my data safe?
Your server structure is stored as encrypted JSON files on our VPS in Brisbane, Australia. We never store message content, voice data, or personal member information beyond Discord user IDs. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
Built by a community owner, for community owners.
If you’ve ever rebuilt roles and channels at 3am, you already know why this exists.
